Hi there,
I am confused about what to use in my filters on the views page.
I created gender vocabulary with men, women, and other.
I asked people in their profile to specify which they would rather be referred to through a CCK field based on this taxonomy.
Now in my view filter, do I use the CCK field or the original taxonomy term?
Thanks!

It depends on how u want to
It depends on how u want to structure the content. If u intend to filter content based only on user input at the CCK form u made, then go with the CCK field. But in the case if u want to add more vocabulary later and want to automatically give people the ability to filter based on those new vocabulary (under the same taxonomy term) then go for the taxonomy term.
In your case, imo, go for the CCK. I don't think u can add more to the 'gender', right? :P
Taxonomy does not work, CCK does but...
When I choose Taxonomy which the CCK field is based on the filter does not work. Very odd. has anyone else experienced this?
So I went ahead and started using CCK taxonomy field instead but I can only choose one value for the CCK taxonomy field
I get "is one of" and "is none of". With CCK taxonomy, I would love to do "is all of" which does not show up as an option. Is there a way around this?
