But when I try to use with Ajax and save a new configuration it give me back

After that I upgraded to the dev-version ( 2013-Oct-29 ), I couldn't edit my breadcrumbs anymore. After clicking the edit-link the page says: There was an unexpected error, try again later.

I updated the installation (/update.php) and cleared cache to no avail. The solution was to disable the module, de-install it, and enable it back again.

Just sharing in case anyone else would run into it. It occured after following the advice in #1, so I'd post it as a comment to rather than starting a new topic.
