This is a follow-up question to http://drupal.org/node/715442 but since that deals with version 6 I thought I should open a new issue, also because it involves Panels (if I'm wrong please tell me).

I use AT Vibrant and Drupal Commons and face two issues:

  1. getting the header/footer on 100% width as per: http://adaptivethemes.com/100-percent-width-header-and-footer-background....
  2. getting some rows on a Panels page on 100% width: that is to say, I wan to set a rwo's background color to 100% so it spans the page, the content should follow the max-width specifief in the theme settings

I am quite adapt at working with CSS but don't have much experience in working with theme templates. From my understanding I need to add a PHP snippet to the AT Vibrant template.php file. I get lost though in breaking and specifying page elements, which i presume should be done in the page.tpl.php file? How would this work for header/footer and is it actually possible to do this for a panels row? I have been experimenting without success so far, some pointers would be great to get me going in the right direction.

Thanks and best,
Gerben
