I have a vocablulary, with a single term.
It is set to "herarchy : single" and "required" is checked.

So when user submitted content before 5.4, the single term was selected by default, user didn't had to change it.

Now the behavior is different, the taxonomy selection shows "please choose".

I find this to be less intelligent behavior, since there is only one term that I want selected by default and nothing to chose from.

This behavior change introduce lots of problem on my site, since user, not used to this, can't submit their topic because of error message that they must select term, and posts on my site have been reduced a lot.

I don't like such behavior change with intermediate ugprade.... how can I revert this ?

Really? I find this to be more intelligent behavior :-)

To have some term selected by default, use http://drupal.org/project/taxonomy_defaults

Thanks for the link.... AGAIN a module I have to install :( .

I insist: when there is only ONE taxonomy in a vocabulary, it is less intelligent to show "please choose" instead of selecting by default when setting is set to required. This is a regression and I don't see why in this case do you say it is more intelligent.
