I want to create a proximity views handler that is based on the addressfield module such that I can select which addressfields I want to show in an exposed filter.

Such that other modules can provide this, it would be nice if there was a hook_proximity_views_handlers that they can implement to add other handlers.

Great idea. That would have made this patch less intrusive too:: #2011340: Geofield plugin to extend proximity filtering based on postal address with option to use HTML5 location
