option to have 'group by content' presentation style
of group home page in Administer › Organic groups

Along with this also needed are two options
order content by newest comments or not
ability to define how many posts on group home page

    Specifically, there is no introductory paragraph introducing the project and explaining it's importance in Drupal land. The task description is minimal, and it's not obvious to me what the deliverable would be (patch marked RTBC? if so, against what version? where?).

    Have you spoken with the OG developers to see if such a patch would be desired?

    Finally, this task needs a mentor who is able and willing to answer questions and review the task when the student completes it.

    I am very new to this, and I followed the format given on the submission page.

    I think its importance in Drupal land will be in the light of the fact that Drupal appears
    to be enlisted as a potential social network software in pactpub lists.

    The current OG module has far too many options yet it does not allow
    default easy behaviors of "communities" of orkut OR "groups" of facebook etc.

    Which is to say,
    an user can click on choose from a category of groups ( enlisted by admin ) > then create a new group > upload a logo for the group > by default starts using the group forum, and group event calendar, and can build up a list of related groups on group profile page.

    In this above light what seems to be most missing is Option to have 'group by content' presentation style in OG in drupal 5x
    It appears it was previously there, and the feature has been removed and OG developers have not implemented it.

    I will request anyone interested to post this issue in proper way
    after seeing orkut /facebook groups/communities.

    I think this is an important thing to go in "socialnetwork" profile installations of drupal in future.

    I can answer things which are not too technical or code related and can review things often - I am not sure if that entitles one to be a mentor.
