I have just recently uploaded what I think is the most recent CVS file of image_assist into a new 4.6RC install. Everything works up until I click 'preview snippet' or 'insert image' both of which simply do nothing. I used this on 4.5 and really liked it. I have done a search, and can't seem to find any related threads. I have TinyMCE installed, though that did nothing in particular.
I am running on Firefox, using the new image cvs from walkah. Any suggestions? Problems?

mariagwyn commentedFurther addition: while I just installed TinyMC b/c so many people mentioned it, I don't seem to be using it in the same way. I don't have an extra button, etc. Is there something I am missing?

matt westgate commentedHave your read the documentation for both modules. Also for img_assist be sure to read UPGRADE.txt as well.

bomarmonk commentedMaria,
Also make sure that Internet Explorer's pop-up blocking and any other ad blocking/pop-blocking software is disabled. And check the permissions of your image_assist folders, tiny_mce folders, files, and your files folder. I did have a similar problem and I believe it may have been related to one of the above concerns.
mariagwyn commentedI have now fixed my persmissions, reuploaded the imd_assist module as I notice that Mathias just did an update, and updated TinyMCE. Now, the problem is complicated though in effect it is fixed. When I click the 'add-image' picture, the img-assist pop-up appears, with a message saying 'your browser has lost communication...'. If I click 'okay' the window closes. If I hit cancel, I can go through all the steps of the img-assist, but the 'preview snippet' is gone. I can however, 'insert image'.
Can I get that button back? In addition, I don't seem to be able to use TinyMCE to actually see and edit the html code in the background. Is this a function TinyMCE allows?
thanks,
Maria
Comment #5
mariagwyn commentedum...ignore the html problem with TinyMCE...I figured that one out. Stupid me. The 'browser communication' problem and 'preview snippet' problem still exist, though they aren't too urgent any more.
mariagwyn commentedsorry for adding to this again, but I appear to have lost the 'caption' form, so it does not pull a caption from the title of the image, nor does it allow me to enter a caption.
ideas?

matt westgate commentedI've made significant changes to both tinymce and img_assist as of late. Care to give the new versions a whirl?
mariagwyn commentedJust uploaded the new cvs. Still the same problem. It disconnects from the 'parent form.' But, since I really like this module, I am willing to keep whirling. Just let me know what to do next.

matt westgate commentedCan anybody provide me the exact steps to reproduce this? Also specify the following information:
1) What browser does this happen in?
2) Does it happen when running img_assist by itself or as a tinymce plugin or both?
Thanks.
matt westgate commentedNevermind. I figured it out. This should be resolved now. You'll need to update both img_assist and tinymce and also the drupalimage plugin.

mariagwyn commentedMatt,
Sorry to report this, but I am having the same problem, even after uploaded the patch you just put out:
"img_assist.module,v 1.43 2005/04/15 19:08:43 mathias"
I have removed TinyMCE from my system thinking that perhaps that is the problem. It makes no difference. On both Firefox and IE the 'form disconnects from parent page.'
In addition, your new update seems to lack the ability to choose and adjustable image size. The only options are thumbnail and original, neither of which work for the articles I have set up.

mariagwyn commentedMatt, you asked for the steps to reproduce this. This is true in both firefox and IE:
1. When the window opens (by clicking the green 'plus'/photo link...I have
never even seen the tinymc button), and I get the following message: "the
browser window has lost communication with its parent form, so images can no
longer be inserted....".
2. I press 'cancel' and I then have the img_assist window in front of me.
3. I see all the images, sorted by the category I selected in settings. I
can select my image.
4. Now, I have two options, different than your previous version: use
thumbnail or original. The 'image size in pixels' is grayed out. I am not
sure if this is intentional..or related to the problem I wil introduce
below, but if it is intentional, can we please have this feature back? I
really really like that part of the module.
5. When I click either preview or insert, nothing happens, just like the
pop-up warned me.

mariagwyn commentedMatt,
You can ignore everything. Somehow I really wasn't getting the most recent CVS, which isn't a total surprise to me as I find the CVS repository to be very confusing. But now, thanks to all your convenient packaging on the 4.6 download page, I am up to date and everything works just fine. Sorry for all the trouble. Nice module...I use it all the time.
