I have bg with a couple of galleries working fine. Today I created another gallery and ran into a lot of problems. First I found that when I uploaded a folder to be used as a gallery I could not re upload the same folder with some updates and expect the gallery to update. The only solution I could find was to rename the folder and edit the gallery.
Second I had a lot of server errors come up. I used up all of my CPU time several times trying to view the gallery. So my question is: Is there a recommended file size and number of pictures?

chrispooh commentedHi,
i have the same problem. I tried the internal BG mysql and file system cache, but it is not faster, thr CPU time is on 100%. After the cache thumbnails load faster, but after thumbnail loaded, the CPU still working on 100%.
I use 640x480 pictures and i set the BG to use 640px weight, but it is still slow.
Your gallery is the one i looking for, but this slow-bug is not good for me :o( Please help us!
thanks,
chrispooh

vacilando commentedI've fixed a database caching bug that was causing high CPU load if that caching mode was selected. Get v3.0 -- just fresh out from the oven ;-) (It also has plenty other improvements, including optimizations!)

Leeteq commentedReported and fixed in the life cycle of 2.9, hence included as fixed in 3.0.., right?
If it says "related to 3.0 and fixed", I would not be certain if the fix is part of 3.0 or not, unless I have to read the thread.
Leaving it as 2.9, newcomers can look at the list and see it was fixed during 2.9, "so lets get 3.0 without spending time verifying by reading this thread". ...
