I am hoping it is just a matter of my not following instructions, but let me spell out what I did:
I found reference to this modules as a way to allow my authenticated users to publish their own pages. Great. My sites use Webserver_auth and get their user info from REMOTE_USER/PubCookie. I also have LDAP Integration installed, though at present it just provides user info like email address.
I downloaded override_node_options into sites/all/modules on my test server and unzipped. I then went to Administation and enabled the module and saved settings. Then I went to Access control and enabled the modules *only* for role=administrator and saved. I then went to another browser and created a page as an authenticated user. No problem. It came up fine with no "override" options apparent.
Next I went back to my admin user and went into access control and enabled override options for role=authenticated user.
When I hit "save settings" it gave me an error ("error saving page" or something like that). Then, whatever menu or page I attemped to visit I got an "Access Denied" and could see only the most minimal set of menus like "My Profile".
I turned off Pubcookie auth and restarted Apache so I could log in as built-in admin. When I went "administration...access control" I saw that every single box was unchecked -- wiped clean essentially.
I am now in the process of restoring these by hand.
Anyone have any thoughts at all?
Jim

I was going to try this module and saw this post. I think I'll wait to experiment with this module until I see a reply to your problem. I have a rather large access table and have no desire to wipe it out. Thanks for the post.
