Would it be possible to have the service links appear with a pop-up menu, like they do here (drupal site, but I have no idea how they do it): http://www.daughtryofficial.com/node/2370

I think that would be the lest unobtrusive, more elegant way to offer that service.

There is a module called Share which adds a popup for this and the forward module. Use those to create a compact Share this link.
