Delete original files on mass import

I would love a way for acidfree to delete all the original files in the import directory after they are successfully mass imported (just like the image import module does). Does anyone know how to do this (possible some code I could add to the .module file)?

I'm not looking for an option to do this in the user interface. I just want it to happen no matter what.
