HolyAndi commentedI am seriously dependending on acidfree albums.

vhmauery commentedI am working on it. It is slow and painful. If you want it to go faster, send money or patches. :)
Drupal's development is too fast and furious. It makes it very hard for weekend coders to keep up.

What is the status? Have you given the "automagic" updating procedure a try???

I am curious firstly because I am depending on Acidfree for three different sites and secondly because I have a few modules myself that I need to upgrade.

nickbits commentedHi All,
Firstly, I think we should all thank vhmauery for the Acidfree module to start with. I have been using it for a LONG time now and is my first choice for any project that needs a gallery. That is until I got to D6. Okay, there are other galleries around but when you already have an Acidfree gallery, is a rght pain to swap, ignoring the fact that none of the other galleries have the exact same features.
I also know that it is difficult holding down a job and maintaing Drupal code on the side. Is such, since I would like to learn more about the modules (programming them), and the fact this is the last module I need, I have started to convert ACIDFREE to D6. This may take me some time.
I have attached the initial version which is very simply the output of the D5 version fed through the deadwood module. One error has already been rectified.
@vhmauery - could you pos. add this as a 6.x-dev release to the CVS?
This then gives us a starting point.
NOTE: Do not use on a production system. there are going to be issues with the code.

sl27257Hi,
thanks!
That is great!
I will start updating my sites to D6 during Christmas so by then I would be able to start testing it.
In general, did the automagic update procedure work as expected?

PS: Did a quick check and it seems like the acidfree.module is missing from the attached zip-file???

nickbits commentedHi,
The conversion only kicked up one error which was a bracket in the wrong place. Other than that, I have not experienced any issues. Will start proper testing this weekend.
acidfree.module is in the zip. I have just downloaded and double checked.

sl27257Hi,
I am sorry but this is what it look like at my side... (This is not from my ordinary development environment (Linux) but from work (Windows Vista), so I do not have 100% control of everything :-( )

vhmauery commentedI have committed initial drupal 6 support for Acidfree. It is a -dev version only, not for use on production servers. While the database schema hasn't changed, I still haven't tested upgrading.
Since there is now a 6.x version downloadable from the project page, I am marking this as fixed.

nickbits commented@vhmauery -Thank you for that. I, and the rest of the community do appreaciate all the hard work you have put in to this module.
@sl27257 - not sure what is going on with that. I was going to re-upload, but suggest you download the dev release now, instead.
Regards,
Nick
