Updating Gallerix makes existing galleries unusable

When updating I shouldn't have to delete the existing Gallerix galleries, but after updating I got some error: Unknown column 'uid' in 'field list' query: INSERT INTO gallerix_pictures (nid, pid, uid, path, name, original_name, added) VALUES (337, 4, 1, 'files/gallerix/albums/1/337/original/_Drift_Away_With_Dreams__II_by_trinket.jpg', '_Drift_Away_With_Dreams__II_by_trinket.jpg', '_Drift_Away_With_Dreams__II_by_trinket.jpg', 1199864531) in C:\Apache2\htdocs\intel.com\includes\database.mysql.inc on line 172. Could you create some functions that will upgrade older Gallerix albums already created?

After I removed Gallerix completely and reinstalled I didn't delete the existinggalleries. Of course it didn't work any longer and I got the following error: The selected file files/_Black_sea_glass.jpg could not be uploaded, because the destination could not be found, or because its permissions do not allow the file to be written. But this second error is not that bad because I did remove Gallerix....

Still existing galleries should still work after updating.
