It would be great to include the ability to have a "Map It" button to do a geocode live on the page before submitting. That way you can see the results and if there was a valid location returned before submitting the node form. Please see the attached screenshot for an example. We can help with implementing this if anyone is interested.

nicholasthompsonThis is a feature I was considering as an idea too...
Should be really easy - have an "update" button which sends off an AJAX request to the GMaps API which geocodes the current field values and then fills in the lat/long fields.
However I get the impression that the work currently going on is to simply get Location into a working state without introducing new features. This will be Version 3.0... New features will come with new sub-released (eg 3.1, 3.2, etc).

yesct commentedThis sounds really cool. If someone wants to create a patch to implement this, please do. Since this has been inactive for over a year, I'll mark it postponed for now, because this might be an idea worth investigating in the future.
