Hi there. I have upgraded to Drupal 6.0 - and i could not find some alternative-module for linksDB. Would there be any release for Drupal 6?
Thanx a lot,
Tom

steinmb commentedI read somewhere that the developer of this module wish to completely rewrite it. When he looked back on how he designed it he realized that it was "all wrong". With that in mind I would not get my hopes up for any ver. 6.x. Reading that I decided not to implement it on my last site. I'm still looking for a solution that I would be able to upgrade to D6. I have been looking on http://drupal.org/project/directory.

slimandslam commentedAnyone want to create an importer that will import linksdb data into weblinks? It looks like weblinks has got the right idea by making each web link a first-class "content type".
It looks like two basic steps for import:
1) move the categories from linksdb into weblinks
2) take each linksdb entry and feed it to the weblinks "create" function (whatever that may be).
Shouldn't be too difficult. However, the current weblinks 6.x-1.0-alpha5 is a bit buggy. Maybe the next alpha would be more stable.

steinmb commentedWeblinks now going RC1 and I need to find time to test it out but it looks really promising! I don't have the time to write a importer for weblinks and for my site with linksdb I could prob. move the links manually since I don't have that many links on the site.
If I go with weblinks I'll prob. move the links from linksdb before updating to D6. Puh, finding a upgrade path to D6 is still not easy..
