Is it possible to create a widget that would highlight just one icon when user clicks it? Only clicked icon should be highlighted, so if user clicks 3 icon 3 would be shown as active and 1-2 inactive.

I have a project where this is required since all icons have different meanings and it does not make any sense to highlight icons 1 to 3 if user votes 3.

This is not currently possible. I've been meaning to add an additional class called 'star-last-on' that is the last star that is on in the widget. This would make it possible through CSS to only have the stars with 'star-last-on' be highlighted, rather than all the stars with the class 'on'.

Could you describe your star scenario a little more so I might understand the full need? It sounds like something I might not have considered before.

I am working on a site that uses six different faces from sad to happy for voting. There is an example image attached. My idea is that after user has voted just one of the faces will be highlighted. When displaying the average vote it would be ideal to show just one larger face icon instead of showing entire row.

Aw, those little guys are awesome! Maybe once we get this finished we could include them as part of the webform installation?

I'm changing this to a feature request because this currently isn't possible. I'm still trying to get the bugs out of version 1.11 which was a pretty big overhaul. Once we get that out the door I'll give this a look.

Thanks, I will happily review and test any patches that implement this functionality.

Unfortunately the face icons are copyrighted to my client and they are not willing to grant permission to redistribute them. They have been using these icons for a number of years in print and web... I will however ask if they would create a special version of these icons and grant permission to include it in Fivestar as thanks for a great module. :-)

I wanted to echo the desire for such a feature and offer that I am willing to test any patches related to this feature.

The ability to control the appearance of the "chosen" star via CSS would be very beneficial.
