You know, maybe you can point out to me where you installed it from - I've looked through the documentation pretty thoroughly, and I cannot find the date_timezone module mentioned anywhere. And there doesn't seem to be one on the drupal site anywhere....

karens commentedThe Date Timezone module is a part of the Date 5.2 version. It is not in the 5.1 version.

Thomas_Zahreddin commentedi installed version 5.x-1.8 and date_timezond did not appear in admin/build/modules.
Maybe you could check that?
(this point works in version 5.x-2.0-rc)

karens commentedThere is no Date Timezone module in the 5.1 version, including 5.x-1.8. It is only in the 5.2 version.
