Hello there,
I recently found out about this useful module.
I have restricted one gallery so only admin can post images. However, all users can post in that gallery.
Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry, let me make it more clear:
View permission seems to work fine: when not given the view permissions, users can not post and cannot view.

However, if vieew permission is selcted and post isn't, then users still have the power to post ( and to view).

To post images or to post comments?

Unfortunately, posting comments cannot be controlled yet. This is a limitation that IGA has inherited from Forum Access, and I intend to work on that, but it won't happen quickly, I'm afraid.

To post images.
Users without the posting permission for a gallery XXX can still select this gallery XXX when posting an image.

Another similar bug I found:
anonymous get the permission to view but not to post.
However, they cannot see the images in the gallery.

Please install devel_node_access and paste the records of one node that is misbehaving.

Try the new 5.x-1.2 release and reopen this issue if needed.
