Hi.

I'm looking for a module which will actually delete a node after it expires. Can Node Expire do that? Or does it only unpublish the node?

currently, the module cannot do this. However im planning to make this module a bit more generic and powerful. See this discussion on http://drupal.org/node/207203 (that deals about this subject).
