teamrob describes the issue perfectly here, and I have found no response - I see exactly the same behaviour:

My votes are recorded and tagged correctly in votingapi_vote, but the votingapi_cache table is empty to I cannot render my results with the Fivestar theme functions. =(

greg.harveyActually, this is almost certainly a VotingAPI issue, not a Fivestar one. I'll leave it "active" but change it to "support request" so you can take a look, but feel free to close it. I have raised it over there too as a real bug:
