I wonder if the current maintainers are still interested in this translation project. It has been more than a month since the release of Drupal 6 and there isn't any sign of an approaching official translation release. So, last week, I've started translating Drupal 6 by myself, using the new translation templates. I've finished translating most of the larger files, and i hope i'll finish the rest soon. Is it possible for me to take over this translation project or perhaps become a co-maintainer?

The translation process has slowed down a bit as currently i'm busy with some other work. But once i complete the translation, i'll apply for a cvs account to upload and share it.

I'm very new to Drupal. That's what I can find so far:
* There is a translation (by joSa,erdemlix,unreadedpost) here, excluding help files. Seems that it is already in use although not being an official version.
* Also the Localization server project seems interesting, but I couldn't find any Turkish group related with this.
That's what I want to know (and contribute if necessary):
* an official and continuous Turkish translation project, one and only group of interested parties.

Drupal'ın acemisiyim. Bu ana kadar bulabildiklerim:
* Burada, yardım dosyaları hariç, (joSa,erdemlix,unreadedpost tarafından yapılmış) bir çeviri var. Resmi bir sürüm değil ama anlaşılan epeyce kullanıcısı var.
* Localization server projesi de ilginç gözüküyor ama bununla ilgilenen bir Türkçe grubuna rastlamadım.
Öğrenmek (ve gerekliyse katkıda bulunmak) istediğim konu:
* resmi ve sürekli bir Tr çeviri projesi, mümkünse ilgili herkesi toplayan tek bir grup.

I'm one of the three contributors of the current unofficial 6.x translation (with the nickname of joSa). However, the 6.x language files' structure was changed so i restarted the translation using the new translation templates. I'll apply for a cvs account and upload my translation later. In the mean time, if anyone is interested in helping with the translation, i'll be more than happy.

Diğer konuda verilen 6.x çevirisine katkıda bulunanlardan birisi bendim (orada joSa olarak geçiyor adım). Çeviri 5.x dosyası üzerinde yapılmıştı fakat 6.x serisi ile birlikte çeviri dosyası şablonları değişti. Dolayısıyla resmi bir çeviri olması için, yayınlanan yeni şablonları kullanarak çeviriye baştan başladım. Bitirdiğimde cvs hesabı talep edeceğim ve çeviriyi siteye yükleyeceğim. Bu arada çeviriye yardımda bulunmak isteyenler olursa, daha çabuk tamamlayabiliriz.

Are you familiar with po-edit? You'll need some kind of a .po file editor for the translation.

I've installed poEdit recently and examined a little bit. So, let's get to work -slowly.
Here is ok to meet. If you can put a more explanatory title, and edit the first message regularly with
- participants list,
- project overview (job list, job owners, percentage, etc.)
- links (to other related groups, topics, etc.)
it would help the searchers (like me a few days ago) a lot.

Geçenlerde poEdit'i indirip kurdum, biraz kurcaladım. Sanırım işe katılabilirim.
Burası uygun. Başlığı "Güncel çevirmenler grubu" gibisinden daha açıklayıcı hale getirip baş taraftaki mesajda (bilmiyorum "description" düzenleniyor mu, düzenlenebiliyorsa orası daha uygun)
- sürekli güncellenen bir çevirmenler listesi (bence "koordinatör: drupaloSa" yazılabilir, altına da liste),
- iş planı ve gidişat gibi bilgiler,
- bağlantılar listesi
yer alırsa, benim başıma birkaç gün önce geldiği gibi deli gibi internette dolaşacaklara yardımcı olunur.
Bir de, Turkey grubu var, çok hareketli değil ama drupal.org bünyesinde, community kapsamında.
Bir de açıklama, sanırım buraya yazanların anadili hep Türkçe ama gene de ziyaretçilere nezaket adına mesajları 2 dilli yazmaya devam etmek iyi olacak, İngilizcesi özet olabilir tabi.
Son notum: Localization server'la ilgilenen oldu mu? İyi niyetli ve kalıcı bir projeye benziyor, bağlantılı olmakta fayda var sanırım.

Çeviri projesini üstlenmek için başvuru yaptım. Kabul edilirse, proje sayfasını güncelleyip gerekli bilgileri vereceğim. Ben şuan itibariyle 6.x çevirisinin önemli bir kısmını tamamladım zaten. Geriye kalan kısımları liste halinde yazıp, ilgilenen arkadaşlara dağıtabilirim. Şimdilik başvuru sonucunu bekleyeceğim. Olmazsa ayrı bir başlık açar, çeviriyi orada tartışırız.
