any advice on newsletter solution.....

henns20 - March 20, 2008 - 02:01

Looking at some of solutions for a newsletter for a website.....
seems the drupal module options are not real clear or not complete....

so question if you need a newsletter should you do 3rd party integration or use something native to drupal?

Any advice would be much appreciated...

E-Publish

Hi,

I'm not really familiar with it, but it looks like you could use the E-Publish module: http://drupal.org/project/epublish
It looks pretty powerful. Check it out; this site uses it: http://www.prwatch.org/cmd/prwatch.html

have fun exploring that,

there's the simple news module http://drupal.org/project/simplenews
php list module http://drupal.org/project/phplist

and for simple lists not part of a drupal site there's http://notonebit.com/projects/mailinglist/

I know these are the Drupal boards but I would also look at services like Constant Contact (http://www.constantcontact.com/index.jsp?pn=denverdataman) not because my partner status but because you get more traceability and a system that you know is Can SPAM complaint.

That being said I know an organization that does a very nice job with simple news.

is not epublish an online book module?

thanks for the responses...I will try simple news.... i will get back for my experience....

i am not against the paid services (i should say that my client isn't) but for now if there is a module that is effective...without all the legwork of having to worry about it working.... then it is tough for me in this case to opt for pay...although i am a believer in you pay for the ease of mind and user interface and support... i am still trying to figure out or digest my thoughts on the paid marketplace products ....but i will refer back to this discussion to your link if i go that way....thanks
