Hi, I’m running d6.1 and MySQL 5.0 on Linux hosting.
When attempting to install the HEAD version of Date I received:
Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated; If you would like to pass it by reference, modify the declaration of [runtime function name](). If you would like to enable call-time pass-by-reference, you can set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in your INI file in /home/content/…[snip]…html/sites/all/modules/date/date/date_elements.inc on line 118
This warning is listed twice at the top of all the admin pages. allow_call_time_pass_reference was set to “On” in php.ini and just as a shot in the dark I changed it to “true.” The warnings continued.
I can see some folks are running this successfully, so I’m inclined to think the issue is with my installation. However, flushing out just what the problem is beyond me.
Any insights will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

kriskd commentedI got this as well. To fix it, I went to line 118 of date_elements.inc and removed the pass by reference symbol which is '&'. I think it appeared in that line in 3 places.
