I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean, not show the "View recent quotes" link?

yes the "View recent quotes" in the User account page.

can there be a checkbox added in Quotes admin not to show this?

I wonder if anyone wants it at all. I think I'd rather see it as a block which an individual user has control over. But yes, it could certainly be an option.

not a dup, because I am not talking about the "my quotes" menu item.

I am talking about the quotes link shown on each user page.

I understand that, but the patch in that issue covers both and will fix both at the same time.

I looked at the patch2 and do not see what I am requesting included.
it states "turning on/off the %name's quotes link at the bottom of nodes"
this does not sound like what I am requesting.

the My Account user account page has a Quote link that I would like to be able turn off.
the function user_profile outputs an array with the quote link.
this is what is displayed.
