davemybes commentedAre you using the Language Switcher block or the Translations block? The first block only switches the interface. To switch the content language, use the Translations block.
Jose, I think that these two blocks need to be renamed. This question comes up over and over again. How about Switch Interface Language instead of Language Switcher, and Switch Page Language for Translations? Or maybe Translate Interface and Translate Page? I think the key here is to have the two blocks appear next to each other in the Block list, so that people can see that there two blocks right away. The Translations block is so far down the list, most people miss it.
We could always get rid of the Language Switcher block, or, in case some people actually do use it, have it only appear in the block list if an option is checked in the settings page.
I realize this is a low priority right now with 6.x in development, so I'll make a patch that does one or more of the things I suggested. At the very least I'll do the block rename thing.

davemybes commentedHere's a patch to change the names of the Language Switcher and Translations blocks. I used Translate Interface Only and Translate Page.
I also changed the description of the Translation block function as it was a copy-paste from the i18n code :)

janv commentedeuhm...
i use the modules "i18n - blocks" and "translation".
is it i18n - blocks that you mean by "Language Switcher block"?
you can see it here www.sadig.be and check "bio"
thx

davemybes commentedIts got nothing to do with i18n-blocks (although it sounds like it should). In the Blocks admin section (/admin/build/block), there will be two blocks listed. One is called Language Switcher and further down the list is one called Translations. What I usually do, is activate only Translations. If your front page doesn't change language, then use Language Switcher, but only on the front page and Translations on all pages, except the front page.
