New forum module - Flexiforum

greg.harvey - April 17, 2008 - 11:29

Hi all,

Just sending this post because I promised some people in IRC I would post something about this module as soon as it was available if they watch my Tracker page! So here I am, posting. B3n tells me a project page is pending (he's created it, but I can't find it so it must be pending approval). It is now in CVS:
http://cvs.drupal.org/viewvc.py/drupal/contributions/modules/flexiforum/

It is a forum that works with Node Comments and BBCode, and has some other neat features too. Please feel free to use and contribute!

Still no project page.

Still no project page. What's the news?

*shrug*

greg.harvey - April 21, 2008 - 14:23

Don't know. It *has* been submitted. Only the inner workings of the Drupal organisation can answer your question!

I'm sure it's coming. In the meantime, you can download the source in to its separate files in a folder in your modules directory from CVS and use it anyway. =)

Hmm...

Michelle - April 21, 2008 - 16:42

Project pages don't go into any sort of moderation. As far as I can tell, no project page exists for this. It is in cvs but it doesn't look like he created the project on drupal.org.

Oh

greg.harvey - April 21, 2008 - 16:52

Bizarre. He said he did. Maybe he sent the email prematurely and didn't actually get around to it. I'll follow up.

I'm interested to see what develops.

No time

greg.harvey - May 1, 2008 - 17:55

I haven't had time to sort out a release yet, but look at the CVS link at the top of this thread - you can download and use the module from there already - you just have to download each file separately. =)

Snapshot

Development snapshot release is in the pipe - it will appear next time Drupal's automated packaging scripts run, some time in the next 12 hours.

Screenshots or examples...

I know the project is still young, but I'd love to know more about the module. Any type of screenshots, working example URLs, etc would be appreciated.

Example

The community is still "closed", so there's no activity, but it's being used at:
http://www.classiccarsource.eu/forums

You can't sign up though - look but don't touch. I haven't got time to open the doors on that site because I know there will be an overhead in moderating the community and providing support, which I can't do right now. =(
