Alright, so I'm confused about what's going on. Can you take a screenshot of your filebrowser settings page and post it? Also, what's the URL that gives the page not found?

ok, so let me backup. i'm on D5.1. i downloaded, unzipped and installed the filebrowser folder under the modules directory like any other module and i enabled it in the admin.

essentially what is happening here is i have filebrowser set to an existing directory, and like most directories, i get my custom Drupal 404 error when trying to hit it direct like: http://www.mysite.com/myfiles/folder2 etc.

i'm afraid to give out URLs here as they'll be on the web for who knows how long and i don't really want anyone perusing my site's files here once i do get this working...

so let me tell you what i have on my filebrowser settings page:

1. root directory: i have there an existing sub-directory such as "myfiles/folder2" (w/o quotes of course). this folder exists on my server with path of: www/myfiles/folder2
i tried putting "www/myfiles/folder2" in here as well with no luck.

2. icon directory: blank

3. Display of description files: Show

so like i mentioned above, i forget exactly how, but my server/drupal install is set up (w/ clean URLs btw) so you can't reach a specific directory such as www.mysite.com/files/ -- this would give you my custom Drupal 404 error instead. i did manage to edit htaccess and bypass that for the particular filebrowser directory i was using but instead of my 404 error, i got a real server error 500. not sure what clue this may give you.

any help is appeciated!

Bump. I have this same issue. Filebrowser admin page shows directory listings with correct size and number of files, but when clicking on the path link, which is correct as entered in the "add directory" I get page not found.

What is supposed to exist at the created and linked page? Is there a way to check that the add directory process was indeed successful? Is it supposed to create a node? The "drupal path" field can be set to anything, but there is no page created so what is it pointing to?

Thanks!

Please don't hijack this issue, meeogee. Also, I recommend using the 6.x-2.x branch as it's very stable now and is a lot more flexible as it moves to using nodes instead of static pages.

The URLs provided to filebrowser should be relative to the web server root. So your settings do seem correct, dugawug. You might want to specify '/www/myfiles/folder2' as the leading '/' denotes the root directory and may fix this problem.

thanks, my problem is resolved. an embarrassing case of "user error". i think it was both the fact that I didn't realize I had to explicitly set permissions to the module first and that i wasn't trying to access the URL via www.mydomain.com/filebrowser. I was using the path given in the admin. silly me ;)

great module, would love to have the ability to upload through it though!

There's another module that allows for file uploading, WebFM. You might want to check that out if you need uploading capabilities also.
