Drupal - Newsletters Question...

Hi All,
When I login to my account here (drupal.org), I can see Newsletters link where I can subscribe or unsubscribe to newsletter(s).
I need same feature for my website where I am planning to use Drupal 6 version.
So is this newsletter feature part of core version or is it any 3 rd party module ?
Please tell me where can I get more details about it.

I agree with above
Simplenews is the way to go if you need basic newsletter functions, you can have separate newsletters for different topics that can then manage totally separate mailing lists. Only problem you will run into is managing your lists, the unsubscribe works fine, but it does not manage bounces, meaning it is not like a system similar to PHPList that will automatically remove your bounced addresses.
