The Date Timezone module requires you to set the site timezone name. This shows up as a status report. When trying to set date timezone...wont accept any zones from the drop down box to fix the issue. Once you save and update...the status report still pops back up. Any suggestions?

karens commentedSounds like http://drupal.org/node/240156. Are you using the Event module?
bbinkovitz commentedI'm having a seemingly related issue. I'm using 6.2 and have the Event module present but not activated. Except when I click the link to take me to the timezone settings, it breaks my whole site. My error log shows:

bbinkovitz commentedupdate:
I completely removed Event and am still having the same problem. I cannot run update.php because the above errors prevent it from completing successfully.
Additionally, I can't disable everything and just use the Date API because it will not let me check that checkbox without others checked, despite the fact that it doesn't claim to have any essential dependencies.
I'm really bummed that this doesn't work because I was so excited about the timezone thing when I saw that on the list before I tried to enable it.

bbinkovitz commentedOk now I tried installing Date on a freshly installed sandbox site that's never had Event on it, or any other modules. There is only CCK and Date, and I was able to set the site timezone without crashing the site too much, but I encountered problems when I forgot to check the "PHP4" checkbox, and had difficulty navigating back to the modules page to enable that. So a safety catch definitely needs to go there.
Also, after I chose a timezone name, it still said I needed to set the timezone.

karens commentedNo response from #1 and #4 says the original issue is fixed (he can set the timezone).
#4 includes some other topics that need their own issues with more information. 'I encountered problems' does not tell me how to reproduce the problem.

bbinkovitz commentedSorry, I meant that it wouldn't let me get back to the modules page because there was an error causing a blank page, and when I hit the back button to get to the modules page, the checkbox next to Date API was greyed out so I couldn't check it, even though PHP4 support was already enabled.
Also I'm a she, not a he.
bbinkovitz commentedAlso I just tried to install on another new site, and when I ran update.php I got this:
Fatal error: Call to a member function override_option() on a non-object in /home/pub/web/drupal6.bbinkovitz.test.kosada.com/sites/all/modules/calendar/calendar.views_default.inc on line 163

karens commentedSorry about the he/she thing, your name doesn't tell me anything and there's a 93% chance you're a 'he' :)
If you're really using 6.x-1.0-beta, as this issue says, start by updating to the latest 6.2-dev version. There may be updates to run and you should clear all your caches, then try again. If you still have trouble in the latest code, start a new issue (this one is closed) marked with the right version describing what happens and what environment you're running in.
