I have created a custom block with image map links to multilingual content. If I select a secondary language, such as French everything converts properly, and my secondary French block shows. If I click the a link in my custom block and I get a French node but the rest of the page converts to the default, English. This is not the case for my other blocks, such as those automatically generated from primary links.

I think there is something wrong with the internationalization of blocks, menus and taxonomy as I have been playing with the setting for weeks and have not been able to localize these either. There are a number of other threads on this as well.

Any ideas on a fix?

I fixed my own problem. The issue was the paths which did not have the language prefixes. The links worked without them but reveerted the site to the default language even though the node # was a translation. Once I added language prefixes /fr/node/# everything worked fine.
