Badges Not Showing Up on User Profile Until After Role is Re-Applied

I am currently using user badges for some roles. I have Badge A that is associated to a Role X. A user registers on my site and receives role Z courtesy of the Role Signup module which triggers Role X to be assigned by the Workflow-NG module. I confirm that the user has been successfully given Role X in the user admin screen, however, Badge A does not display on the /user page. It is only when I edit the user and remove Role X and save and then re-assign Role X and save, that Badge A shows up.

Is this a bug?
