i had a wordpress site but got annoyed with it and changed to drupal. but i assumed there would be a flash gallery module which shows flickr images, like simpleflickr in wordpress. there are several such plugins for wordpress. is there a hidden version for drupal that does require php knwlege (because i dont ave any such knowlege)?
thanks.

flickr
thanks, i did
the documentation is sparse, to say the least. but i managed to get it working.
but no, it doesnt seem to show a gallery on my drupal site like the WP plugin, just a thumbnail that links to and opens the actual flickr site.
but i am pretty hopeful i am missing something, as this hardly seems worth the trouble of being a module; i could put a pic that links to my flickr site easier that the installation of the module.
to those who may know better: i assumed that adding a photoset filter would show a photoset (several thumbs) on my drupal site, but i am just getting one thumb which links to my flickr site. is that the expected behavior?

No Decent Image Gallery
This definitely seems to be a glaring weakness in Drupal - there is no decent gallery product on D6 at this point. From what I can tell brilliant Gallery looks very cool - but it is still on D5 and it does not look like there is any work on a port to 6.
Drupal's closest competitors (Joomla and Plone) both have several very nice image gallery products, it is strange that Drupal does not.
Plone and Joomla have very nice tools that auto-scale your images, can put all the images in a directory into a gallery for you, and integrate nice JavaScript popup stuff.
You might want to try slideshow creator. It works on D6. It is functional, but somewhat crude. I've had trouble with the "dir" function and getting it to read in a whole directory of images, but for hard linked images it works ok. It does require that you scale you image yourself.

Pfft - who's this idiot?
Ha! Well - er...I thought about this a bit and decided to educate myself a little. It turns out the world is not so bad in Drupal 6 for image galleries:
