I am playing with the idea that site users can setup their group as if it is their homepage, but it seems the modules are not quite here. Since I am sort of newbie, can you give some advise?
The OG vocabulary module, which supposedly give each group their own vocabulary to organize their contents, still doesn't have a official release?

The posts in http://groups.drupal.org/ seems to have their group-specific taxonomy categories, eg. "site-wide tags", "search tags", "Community Group Freetags" etc, shown at the bottom of the post. How do they do that (without giving global administrate taxonomy permission to the groups)?
The OG menu module, which can give each group its own navigation links, says it still has many "issues"

Forum access, which is to grant forum moderator, says it has "open issues"

The impression I have is that drupal is still not stable enough to function like this. Could you give advice if you have successful experiences, or alternative way to setup the functionality?
Thank you very much.
PS. And a related question: it is possible to have more than one group manager/admin for an OG?
