rellis commentedThe problem is how to let the user select the parent
in a simple way. I'm open to suggestions.
Have you looked at hierarchical_select?

joncup commentedYes, but it wasn't right for my application. the work i used was to use two separate vocabs. I'm going to mark this closed for now, because the work around is acceptable.

joncup commentedon second thought, i could really use this feature. im opening this back up in case any one has any ideas.

geotech890 commentedNice module. I'd love this same feature which Joncup already requested for Drupal 5.x, but for 6.x.
Sadly I'm pretty new to the wonderful world of CMS, Drupal and PHP so I don't have any suggestions on how it can be achieved I'm afraid. Just adding my vote!
hierarchical_select looks very good, but I wonder if it may be overcomplicated for the purposes some of us have in mind? (Also, it's not yet ready for 6.x). Thanks

marchanda commentedAdding my vote as well. Great module for my 'flat' taxonomies, but the ability to associate new terms with parent(s) would help a lot. Thanks for all the good work.
