Fix the following issues:

- No feedback given after answering a question
- Navigation appears to be broken (answers are graded immediately, and say either 0 point if wrong or 1 point if correct... a 0 point question lets student retry indefinitely, a 1 point question advances to next, but you receive the error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '-1' at line 1 query: SELECT question_nid FROM quiz_question WHERE quiz_nid = 15 AND status = 0 ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 0, -1)
- Still require completion of quiz taking interface, using workflow:
1. User starts quiz. Insert row in quiz_results with user_id, quiz_id, and time_start
2. Question selection interface (varies by question type)
3. Load user row from quiz_results and add question to results array or, if it exists, replace old answer with new (for backwards navigation support)
4. Display a final message that quiz is over after last question, set time_end (the spec says that this is only for in non-backward navigation quizzes, but an easy way to do this either way would be to show a final screen with a button the students must click to indicate they’re finished with the exam, and have *this* action set the time_end.)

re #2, question selection interface: since Angie has implemented the taxonomy selection, this is now reduced to filtering the selection based on the available question types. Poll for question types, make a checkbox group with a checkbox for each question type, and update the list of questions based on which question types are selected.

- No feedback given after answering a question not fixed yet ?
- When a multichoice page is displayed, the first answer is selected... bad, bad.
Why don't it act like in poll module ? If an answer is really needed, then why not, imho, add a (hidden or not) choice "i don't know" or "i can't answer" as selected one (and always wrong of course), with id NULL or zero..?

Not yet. Unfortunately, this was a module with enough stuff to keep two people very busy for two months and there was only one busy person. :( So there is a lot of stuff left still to do, this one of them.

Yep, this is a side effect of the new forms API unfortunately. But if poll is NOT doing this, I'll take a look at what it's doing and see if I can replicate it.

Thanks for the bug reports!

Only 2 for such big and interesting module? I'll try to help then. (i cannot promise patches for now, but i'll start beta testing)

gilcot, your contributions are most welcome :-) Communicate with webchick, she's maintaining the quiz module.

I wrote on november 30 :
When a multichoice page is displayed, the first answer is selected... bad, bad. and asked Why don't it act like in poll module ?...
I've found the answer in "function poll_view_voting" http://drupaldocs.org/api/head/function/poll_view_voting : they use "'#default_value' => -1" (line 316 in "poll.module" file) where we use here "'#default_value' => NULL" (line 292 in "multichoice.module")... I changed "NULL" to "-1" and that solve it (but no need to submit patch for that or i am wrong ?). I don't have time to investigate that, but i think Drupal core when building the "radios" use a "==" test instead of "===" test ; then undefined and null variables are, like empty string, solve to 0... what make the radio (the first option is 0, not 1!) checked...
I also suggested to use the zero value/id for the option/choice "i don't know" or "i can't answer"..?
Regards.

Thanks!

Marking this code needs review, in the hopes that someone gets to it before I have a chance. :)

It's not a bad patch, but it's not very much either. It's only a diff of about 14 lines of code, half of which just comments out debugging stuff.

but work!

deekayen’s picture

but as far as I can tell, it doesn't close the task.

alias420’s picture

Nope doesn't close the issue just trying to give a little something back in hopes it can help.

...and I'm sure I'm not the only one that appreciates that.

I spent some time going through the above version of the module with WinMerge, and it looks like the patch for http://drupal.org/node/77792 handles most of the issues that were fixed in the above code. It's hard to tell since this was not submitted as a patch. I'd suggest closing this issue and starting a new one for each items that still needs to be fixed after 77792 is committed.
