I am trying to get some examples of what can be done with the user profile pages. Anyone know of any Drupal based sites that have succeeded in this regard?
Thanks!

Need reliable Drupal hosting?
.
I wouldn't say my site is the best by any means but I like it. I just need to get the guesbook part themed nicely.

That looks wonderful. Care
That looks wonderful. Care to share how you did it? What modules did you use to have those great little info boxes?
.
It's the advanced profile module. Pretty much stock with just some CSS changes and I'm using the actual guestbook module.

Neato
Fantastic. I love it. I just tried it, and the built-in "My Blog Posts" view doesn't work. It brings back recent blog posts for ALL users, not just the user of the profile. I noticed you have a customized URL (neighbors/michelle) rather than (user/3). Did you use pathauto for that? Did you have to make any tweaks to the views to make it work with your URLs? If you can solve this, I would be ever so ecstatically grateful.
.
I use pathauto. Didn't do anything special to make it work with my URLs.

User pictures
How have you got your pictures all the same size on everyones profile. on my site, the widths the same size, but the hight depends on how big the pic is. o.O
Imagecache
I use imagecache. There's an article on Lullabot's site that explains how to do it. There's also an imagecache profiles module but I haven't tried that, yet.

Another example
This is another example of a user profile, based on Michelle's Advanced Profile Kit. Because the profiles are only accessible for members, here's the screenshot.

Finished my User Profiles
Well, I just finished my User Profiles. You can check out some examples here, here, or here.
I opted for using customized profiles since nothing else seemed to give me what I wanted. I tried to use advanced profile at first but got too many error messages. Making my own customized profile was a lot easier than I expected, it was only made difficult by the fact I needed to allow for a multi tiered fluid layout within a fluid layout. Ugh.
Aside from that it worked out well. I even allowed for my users to showcase their own websites or flickr photos and their buddylist too. All and all I am happy with the results but I would still love to hear some feed back.

John

a fair amount of custom coding was done here, but its using the standard drupal profile module and fields, magic tabs, dodge (for twitter clone functionality), and a few other things thrown in for fun.

thanks! it did take a ton
thanks! it did take a ton of work and is still a work in progress. I wound up just building everything from scratch (template wise) instead of running with something like panels. It allowed me to do exactly what I wanted to on the page.
