Viewfield will not print in a view

Hi,

i have been trying for to print a viewfield defined in a node in a view.

I get nothing printed out at all. The label is, but the viewfield is not

label is printed out:
print $field_latest_events_attended_vname_label

the value is not:
print $field_latest_events_attended_vname

if i were to goto the view itself it is printed out.
