Here is a patch that will allow the admin to set how many phone numbers show up on a CCK type. Option shows up after multiple is selected in admin settings of form.

The above patch file applies cleanly to 5.x-2.11 and in combination with all of the other patches I submitted, except this one http://drupal.org/node/275861 - this patch will apply after the "type" patch has been applied.
