Read More Link - Known Issues

The Read More Link module has several known limitations. Chiefly, the module may misplace the “read more” link when inline placement is chosen, because it's doing a reverse search for a </p> tag to find the end of the most recent paragraph. Depending on your teaser content, that placement may be incorrect.
