The Groups checkbox does not appear on the editing page for selecting audiences. They appear for user1, but not for other users in the group.

I have OG running on two other computers and the audience checkboxes appear there correctly for group users.

The checkboxes appeared as expected on the first box, a development machine. This problem appeared briefly when I was setting up the second computer, the test server, and seemed to go away after re-applying all node permissions.

This does not seem to help on the third computer installation, the production machine. I have even tried wiping and re-installing drupal and og on this box to no avail.

Here is the environment
Centos 4.5, drupal 5.7
views 5.x-1.6
organic groups 5.x-5.4

Attached is a screengrab.

All machines are configured the same? Are running the same modules. I would look at your content types at top of admin/og/og in particular. Also, this could be a system.weight issue. look at the weight of og in system table.

your OG is very old. please upgrade. there has been a security release. please reopen if still needed after upgrade.

The system weight is 0 on all three installations.

I really would like to avoid having to completely redo all three machines.

The only modules other than the ones I allready listed on this machine are the node approval, journal, and backup and migrate modules.

I am going to wipe this box one more time and try og with only views.

The system works fine on the other two machines, so I really would like to avoid having redo all three.

OK, I'l bite, It does the same thing in a completely clean install with no modules other than
views present.

The checkboxs work fine when the audience check boxes are optional, it's only when they are required that they disappear.

So how does one 'upgrade' or update this module on the boxes where 5.x-5.4 are running?
disable og module
copy over new version files
enable og module?

i can't reproduce this with current OG

you don't need to disable OG. just delete the directory. put the new one where the old one was. visit update.php and run any updates.
