Just a question to the developer. Is this the imagefield incarnation for Drupal 6 or a different module?

This is not the imagefield reincarnation, and current developments indicate that this module will disappear with its guts being merged back to imagefield. This module was created as proof of concept for extensible file widgets and formatters, but has not outgrown that status, and dopry as imagefield maintainer does not intend to trash imagefield but wants to rework it instead so that it too is based on filefield (with a few differences, of course).

I'm outta here for at least a month, so expect this module to die rather sooner than later.

i'll chime in to say that at this point, it'll have some type of an upgrade path because i'm using it on a site and don't plan on getting stuck ;)

no filefield_image is a proof on concept... We've agree to merge it's functionality into imagefield. However, I'm rewriting large chunks of filefield to get a stable and clean D6 release. The extensible behavior in the FileField D6 beta's will be moved to a specialzed extensible widget and metaformatter system.
