Can Simplenews use the login information from Drupal to populate its mailing list? i.e in place of manually adding the email addresses to the import subscriptions field. And if then a person would unsubscribe (from the provided email link) the name would be removed from that listing.

Is this possible?

Seems that the way SN is now set up works well. This give the user the choice of adding a subscription. It would be nice to port from Drupal, but it could become somewhat of a management issue.

No need to further consider the request.
