Installed BG and modules in Drupal 6.3 (except Colorpicker as no Drupal 6 version - integrated?).
There is no link/menu item to the BG settings under Administer>Site Configuration.
I was able to access the settings directly via a link (/admin/settings/brilliant_gallery).
(I tried installing in Drupal 5 and did not have the same problem.)

hiflyer commentedAlso, (admin/settings/brilliant_gallery/manage) shows the Site Configuration page, not the Manage Galleries page.
jack_ruby commentedjust make yourself a link using the menu function!
It may be that there isn't a manage page in the 6.x version
Comment #3
hiflyer commentedDuh - thanks! (Been a long day...) Strange it's not automatic.
andreazzzo commentedsame for me...
no 'manage' page is reacheable....
Furthermore (but this has been a very long day in front of this PC), i really can't find good step-by-step instructions about brilliant gallery on Drupal 6... has anyone had success in fully integrating it anda llowed users to create their own galleries with this module?
(any help appreciated a LOT)
squirrel333 commentedI'm having the exact same problem, I'm new to Drupal ad this is doing my head in, I'm not finding it as easy as everyone says it is.
How to I create a new menu item as suggested above?
OK...
I have finally managed to get the first configuration page to set the path where the photo's are but where is the second configuration page to choose which galleries are displayed?
Only 4 hours to get this far on the one module, at this rate I should have my website up by the year 2020.
vacilando commentedThere was a little bug that prevented display of the config page. It was nevertheless available if you knew the path (e.g. from D5), that is: /admin/settings/brilliant_gallery
Strangely, it showed on my machine (and remote server), so I did not notice it before doing the release.
Now fixed in v1.1.
@hiflyer - no 'Manage' functionality in the D6 version as yet. It was a lot of work in D5 and I need to catch breath. Of course, help is most welcome. Basically, current D5 version has to be ported to D6 completely.
squirrel333 commentedSorry but I have still made no progress on sorting out my problem...
Yes the new version fixes the set up page I managed to work that out before the fix but how to I manage the galleries that need to be displayed, am I missing some thing here?
I have followed step by step the install instructions but step that requires me to set which galleries to display I can not work out.
I'm now looking at other gallery options as spending now 8 hours on this module and to not getting it to work is doing my head in.
Sorry but why release a version that does not work?
Am I missing some thing here or is it that I am new to Drupal and do not understand?
I can't manage which galleries to display, can I install an old version that will allow me?
vacilando commentedHi squirrel333 -- as I mentioned in my post just above yours, the Drupal 6 version of the gallery does not yet have the management function. The same is mentioned in the 'NEW' line at the top of http://drupal.org/project/brilliant_gallery and on other pages. This function is a few days old, it cost a lot of effort, and I simply haven't had the time to port it to the Drupal 6 version. Everything else works.
squirrel333 commentedSorry but again I have to say....
Am I missing something here as a newbie to Drupal...
You say everything else works, ummmm how if you can't mange which albums you want to display?
Isn't that the point of this module?
hiflyer commentedvacilando - thanks for the 1.1 update that fixed the menu problem.
I still have the issue of no thumbnails or images in Firefox 3, and only thumbnail placeholders but ok images in IE7. Any ideas on that? Apparently I have BG pointing to the right folder as the size of the gallery module displaying is correct for the number of images and they are loading in IE7.
I would be happy to help with porting to Drupal 6 - if/when I figure that out. I'm just starting to explore Drupal (most of my experience is with Xoops) so that might be a while. Drupal is a bit of a different animal for me. ;-)
vacilando commented@squirrel333 - please be more specific as to what does not work for you. I am not sure what you mean by 'mange which albums you want to display'. You can use one or more tags in all nodes or blocks as long as the tag was enabled in input formats. Read again the installation / demo page.
@hiflyer - can you post a link to the page where it does not work? A look at the html usually reveals what the problem might be.
Thanks for offering hel with porting the new D5 version, it will be much appreciated. Let me know how and when you want to proceed.

hiflyer commentedvacilando - here's my test site. Thanks for looking:

vacilando commentedI see that both the full image and the thumbnail are linked properly, so this is not about wrong paths.
Try appending /drupal/sites/all/modules/brilliant_gallery/image.php?imgp=L2hvbWUvdGhlZ291bGQvcHVibGljX2h0bWwvZHJ1cGFsL3NpdGVzL2RlZmF1bHQvZmlsZXMvYmdhbGxlcnkvMDFrZzIwMDcuanBn&imgw=20&imgh=30 after your domain and look at the errors. They are the reason why the thumbs don't appear!
I've in the meantime applied drico's changes from http://drupal.org/node/279834 - so get the new version (6.x-1.2) and give it a try.
Works?
squirrel333 commentedI have followed the instructions step by step but you can not manage which galleries you want displayed, I am using Drupal 6
The last line in the instructions. You assume in all documentation that everyone is using Version 5
Don't bother, I have uninstalled the module as it does not work.
Now looking at other options for a gallery without much luck as there is none for Drupal Version 6.
At the moment I have no gallery on my site and that is the entire reason for the website to show friends and family by travel pictures, and video's
Back to using Flikr which I hate.
hiflyer commentedvacilando - I applied 6.x-1.2 and the issue is resolved. Thank you for the update and fast support! (And to drico for the patch.)
Saw lullabot has a podcast on porting modules. I'll take a look and see if it's within the realm of my abilities as a newbie Drupaller...
my-family commentedI have the described problem (no manage page, only configuration page) even in 6.x-1.2 version. Please, could you help me? Eva
Comment #17
vacilando commentedEva, the image manage page was only in the D5 version. But there is good news -- I have just finished porting the most complete functionality from D5 to D6... you can download 6.x-2.0!
