I am new to Drupal, and I have been struggling real bad to get this far and I have been trying now for over 12 hours to get this to work but nothing.
I can't get any pictures to display at all, not even an empty box.
Back to trying to find another way to have a gallery on my website.

rapsli commentedno worries... did you set up an image cache preset namespace?
squirrel333 commentedSorry I am very very frustrated as I have been working on getting a gallery on my new website for over12 hours now and not having any luck what so ever.
Any help would be appreciated, I'm a newbie
Yes, I think So, I have tried so many things but just a blank page of nothing when I click on the Fast Gallery link
Comment #3
rapsli commentedhave you run the cron job?
squirrel333 commentedOK, I have tried that also, I'm giving up for today, I need to take a break, thanks for trying to help.
I will read through the forums again tomorrow with a clear head step by step and see if I can get it to work.
Thanks again dude!
rapsli commentedmake sure to provide more information. Because otherwise there's a very little chance that I can help... sleep tight ;)
.... and: don't give up. We'll get it to work
Comment #6
squirrel333 commentedOK, I have gone for a walk to calm down, have tried again and I now have pictures displayed but how do I get them all the same size?
as in thumbnails?
rapsli commented;) this all depends on imagecache. do you got an URL, so that I can have a look at it? Or a screenshot, what it looks like? To me this seems like it's an imagecache problem
Comment #8
squirrel333 commentedSorry again but I don't know what I have done now but again no pictures in the gallery.
This is far from a 2 minute job I have been on it for over 13 hours now and I'm back to where I started 13 hours ago, AHHHHHH!
Sorry but it is obviously easy for everyone else but I'm just dumb!
Can someone please write simple step by step instructions on how to get this to work please?
rapsli commentedin order to help i need more invormation!
Like: PHP Version, any error messages, provide some screenshots, what do the paths look like and and and. So far you have never provided any details, just that you've been working for 12 hours on it.
squirrel333 commentedSorry, I'm new to all this...
OK, I'm running Drupal 6.3, PHP version is: 5.2.6
I'm not getting any error messages, just no pictures:
http://markcapotondi.com/?q=fast_gallery
I just went found your tutorial on your website, and followed it step by step but still the same, no pictures.
Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated, I tried your chat but I'n not in English
Comment #11
rapsli commentedthere we go... much better. Try to enable clean URL.
I don't have access to your gallery. Seen the gallery would help a whole lot.
try IRC -> Channel #drupal-support. I'm in there
Comment #12
squirrel333 commentedSorry still nothing.
I have Clean URL's enabled.
I don't like IRC, people are very rude and not helpful at all.
Also I don't have a IRC chat client on this PC, I'm running Linux (Ubuntu)
How do I give you access to my gallery?
rapsli commentedpermissions can be set here: admin/user/permissions
Comment #14
squirrel333 commentedSorry but now why Drupal is all stuffed up, AHHHHH!
How can you help me sort out this fast gallery problem?
What do you need from me to help me?
Now when I log out of Drupal, and try and access a page, I get an access denied error, and It says I'm still logged in?
What version of Drupal should I be using for this to work?
rapsli commentedoky... how about this. You send me your loggin data for your page and I'll have a look. Everything else... I don't think will lead anywhere.
xeik commentedI had the same problem and I think the problem is this:
http://drupal.org/node/283034
"I have created the following directory for my pictures:
sites/default/files/pictures
I want to organize them using folders only. I have created the following folders:
sites/default/files/pictures/family
sites/default/files/pictures/friends
If I do not have at least one photo in sites/default/files/pictures, it will not display the folders. If I place at least one photo in sites/default/files/pictures, it will display the folders.
I have also have tired (I don't know if Fast Gallery is designed to do this) to created sub-folders of pictures like:
sites/default/files/pictures/family/dad
Charles"
squirrel333 commentedThanks Charles...
I'm going to have to uninstall Drupal, and start from scratch as I have done something that will not allow me to log on as the admin anymore, it kicks me out
I will try what you suggested to see if it works.
Thanks for the advise, much appreciated
Comment #18
squirrel333 commentedThanks but I need to fix another problem first, now I can't logon or off, I asked what the problem could be in IRC they said it is a session issue, what ever that means but it was all OK until I installed the latest update from your module.
I'm not saying that caused the problem but I am going to start from scratch with a clean install of Drupal, and see if I can then get it all to work.

squirrel333 commentedWHOOOOO HOOOOOOO!
Thanks Charles, your solution worked.
WHOOOOO HOOOOOOO!
THANKS!
I now have a gallery up on my website, all be it I had to reistall and start from scratch with Drupal.
You know away how I can change the name of the Gallery?
rapsli commentedsetting the name is not possible yet... I put this on fixed.
squirrel333 commentedThanks dude, and sorry for all the hassles but I hae got it to work, but bot the DEV version the old version, the DEV version I can not get to work.
rapsli commentedany error message? could be this bug here: http://drupal.org/node/283383#comment-925117
Comment #23
squirrel333 commentedYes, I think that was the message I got, I have received so many the past few days they all seem like one big error message but I have it working now.
Now to rebuild the rest of my site back up.
My webhost lost my website in a server crash, I had a lot of years worth of video and pictures but I have most of it backed up, just need to get it back up online.
thanks again.
squirrel333 commentedOK, all was working until I updated to the new version now I'm back to where I stated yesterday, no images, grrrrr
What is wrong now?
What is new in this update?
I knew I shouldn't have updated.
Can I go back to the old version that worked?
rapsli commenteddid you uninstall the module?
* First you have to disable the module.
* Then uninstall it -> admin/build/modules/uninstall
* install the module again.
squirrel333 commentedWhen I disable it, it does not show up in the Uninstall section.
I'm going to delete Fast Gallery as it is extremely buggy, it is not easy to install, and DOES NOT WORK!
I am now way way beyond frustrated with this module...
It was working fine this morning after a reinstall of Drupal, it was the first module I installed and followed the instructions step by step very slowly, it worked after 4 hours of trying, so then I proceed to set up everything else on my website, have been working on it all day 14 hours, now I run a check on my site and ittells me to upgrade, I do, now I'm back to where I started.
I can not get ANY gallery to work on my site.
Sorry but I have had enough.
I had a good site up and working until my webhost server crashed and lost all my sites data, now I have to start all over again and now again I'm going to have to uninstall and start from scratch again.
I don't have another 14 hours to spare.
Sorry if I am ranting, but I am very very angry!
It is very late here and I need to get to bed.
squirrel333 commentedNow I have tried to uninstall Fast Gallery and my site is totally screwed again!
Now again I have to start from scratch all because you can't uninstall this module....
Can I suggest that you test modules better before releasing them!
Now all I get is this error over and over all all pages, not just the Fast Gallery Pages.
user warning: Table 'squirrel_drpl3.fast_gallery_exif' doesn't exist query: SELECT * FROM fast_gallery_exif WHERE gid=1 in /home/squirrel/public_html/orangejuicewithbits/sites/all/modules/fast_gallery/fast_gallery.inc on line 129.
squirrel333 commentedOK, I have started from scratch again, and have Fast Gallery working sort of...
Now it is displaying pictures that are not in the files, and
The gap in between thumbnails is huge!
http://www.orangejuicewithbits.markcapotondi.com/fast_gallery
How do I fix that!
rapsli commented... how about you wait a couple days till there's a more stable version...
rapsli commentedComment #31
rhrueda commentedHi,
If I try to cron, this message appears:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function exif_read_data() in D:\AppServ\www\oeg4\sites\all\modules\fast_gallery\fast_gallery.inc on line 56
If I click in admin-fast gallery these messages appears:
* warning: imagecreatetruecolor() [function.imagecreatetruecolor]: Invalid image dimensions in D:\AppServ\www\...\sites\all\modules\imageapi\imageapi_gd.module on line 129.
* warning: imagecopyresampled(): supplied argument is not a valid Image resource in D:\AppServ\www\...\sites\all\modules\imageapi\imageapi_gd.module on line 62.
But There I can see some grey vertical rectangles wich should show the thumbnails, and clicking on them the picture is opened.
My configuration is:
default file folder: sites/default/files/images/image_gallery_2
Path to Gallery:sites/default/files/images/image_gallery_2
Fill in the imagecache preset name.: fast_gallery_200
Fill in the imagecache preset name.:
My configuration of the image cache is
preset name: fast_gallery_200 wich includes a resize action.
¿Any idea?
Thanks!
rapsli commentedit seems like your server doesn't allow this kind of operation. I'm gonna release a new beta version with some bugfixes...
rapsli commentedComment #34
rhrueda commentedI still see those grey rectangles in the thumbnails with the new release.. anybody knows what is happening?
