This is the same issue as #139818: BPO Canada Global Services Corporation (Canada, India).

It was "won't fixed" back then but can be re-opened if you feel that it deserves new consideration.

Yes earlier it was BPO Canada.

As informed in http://drupal.org/node/139818#comment-547676, we were going through a re-branding exercise which is now over.

We would now like to have new consideration for this issue. Hence updated the status.

Closed the previous thread("duplicate"). Requesting that this be looked at here.

What has changed since the last issue?

Gurpartap Singh’s picture

^^ mask.. j/k ;)

gloscon’s picture

- Gujarati Release of Drupal
- Organized and Sponsored Drupal Camp in India - http://drupalcamp08.drupalindia.in
- And have contributed and updated modules to keep it up with D6
- Gave seminars to over 1000 IT professionals / students to promote Drupal

Gurpartap Singh’s picture

I think Heine meant that contribution isn't to be mentioned, it's seen automagically merging within the community, and needs no attribution. That kind of changes. Aje Dilli Door Hai Bhai.

Could you provide an update on the issues listed in the previous issue by Greggles in comment 5.
$
-In particular, I would like to see evidence of collaborative work with other developers on modules.
-The removal of WE and multiple individual accounts for each of the Drupal developers at Gloscon working on Drupal. Sharing an account across many people feels dodgy.

I think in general Gloscon is doing a lot of good work and should be added. Promotion in India is really important and language releases and local events are significant contributions. There is clearly good work being done on some nice looking Drupal sites, but be sure to review the list and make sure you have happy site owners. I do not want a repeat of contested sites as happened with the travel site.

It's very, very bad practice to have accounts used by multiple people, and I've run community sites where such accounts get blocked permanently. I'm not sure if you're sharing CVS accounts - but since the account application (afaik) is for a single person, that ought to be stopped too.

gloscon’s picture

On Kieran's comment, our developers have individual accounts and are supporting in support forums at individual levels.. So this is already taken care of

The work related to modules, language translations, creating awareness in India is funded by Company - Gloscon by specifically assigning people tasks and making sure that it gets done. I personally don't see anything wrong in that. Infact, with individuals supporting in forums at their own will and free time is one thing and having a corporate take care of modules, upgrades, building community, mobilizing resources to promote Drupal is also a separate thing. If I would have needed to look at only plainly commercial angle like many other companies in the list who haven't done any contributions but still in the list, I could have done so long back.

CVS account is only used by 1 user in company who has been mandated to make regular contributions when ready.

Gurpratap, thanks for the comments - I just wanted to see what benefits there are to be a community player. Drupal.org can't have dual standards and which I am seeing lately and am concerned.

I'm ok if everyone thinks that our company has not done enough to get listed in the drupal services page and if so, please close the issue. I have had enough of this.

Sure, someone would hire you Deepak - one can see your loyalty easily on your profile. You keep changing companies every few months and every of your employer says you have duped them and cheated them.

http://www.linkedin.com/in/singhdeepak

Look at your Drupal user - you are not even active in the community. This post could be posted somewhere else.

The fact you responded here is because of http://fraudster.wordpress.com/2008/08/19/warning-deepak-singh-qositech-...

All the best! All these years, you kept saying that you would pay back the company(on record in email as well in your resignation letter), when finally you got exposed because of your acts, you freaked out.

India has no shortage of thugs like you! All the best in Drupal world. And as per the earlier post - it matters less whether one gets added in the list or not as clearly the Core team having dual standards.

This will not stop us from contributing and upgrading modules, expanding our team and spreading awareness of Drupal in positive way. Would be great to be added in the list but it has never been a show stopper. Not being added just makes us more stronger in our resolve to bring more solid products and offerings.

Firstly, this is the webmasters list and has nothing to do with the 'core team' (whoever that may be).
Secondly, this isn't a place to fight amongst yourselves.
Thirdly, reverse psychology does not work here!.

I am closing this. Another webmaster can re open it if they feel Gloscon should be added.

Hi all Community Members..

Facts about Gloscon / Roshan Shah

Dear community members Mr. Roshan Shah (CEO- of Gloscon Solutions) Keep saying that dont do work on Drupal for 3 years after resigning from his Company Gloscon,

Our Questions to The Founder of Drupal.. Mr. Dries Byteart , Is Drupal Product of Gloscon / Roshan Shah ? or Drupal is Open Source ?

We are understanding that Drupal is Great content management system and we would like to work and build our career with Drupal, But Mr. Roshan Shah is doing some contract with employees, like Dont work with Drupal for Next Three Year,

He always find students(trainee) From the collages and take them as trainee, he introduce them as companies employee, and count them in to number of employees, always saying that we have around 50 Employees, but this is only number fact is different, but this is true there are just few employees, trainee are also not being paid anything , and also hard contract with trainee like employees,

We all know drupal is opensource thats why our question is why Mr. Roshan Shah always behave like he is owner of the Drupal , an drupal.org

Mr. Shah you can own drupal, you can own any big company but you never (cant) own our expertise, our expertise is our life,

Drupal is opensource and we wish drupal will always be opensource...

here are some more fact about Roshan Shah, http://www.letsgetrich.com/anna_bevier_rebuttal.php

Thanks,
Drupal Community

I'll bite:

An employeer can come up with any contract they want to come up with. If you disagreed with the contract you shouldn't have signed it. By having trainees/employees sign a contract doesn't exactly mean any one is trying to "own" Drupal. Drupal is open source. Whether the contract you signed has any legal standing or not is for an attorney to decide.

I am not a lawyer, however my personal opinion on this is that the contract wouldn't stand up. YOu can work with any piece of software you want. I don't believe an employeer can forbid you to work with something that isn't their own. Though they can have you sign a non-competance / non disclosure contract where by you agree not to compete with them in their industry for a stated amount of time.

The above opinion isn't legal advice and you should take a copy of whatever you signed to an attorney who can help in these types of affairs.

Lastly, I don't know that the drupal.org forums and especially the issue queue is intended for these types of debates. If you have a problem with an employeer, blog about it on your own site.

Deepak,

All along for last 12 months you kept giving false promises to pay back the money for the Patna Office which Company invested in. You gulped up the equipment and started Qositech.

And as far as headcount is concerned, you are free to request the annual report from registrar of companies. Creating fake ids and making posts won't take you anywhere.

And yes, we have tight contracts. Drupal Service firms has issues with people leaving without giving notices, developers disappearing leaving projects midway and people like you stealing code, equipment and breaking non-competes and creating wrong noises. If you have evidence, then present the facts on separate forum and I don't mind if you write anything against me so long as it is true.

Today Social Reputation is a subject in itself and anyone posting anything has no significance if there is no evidence. We have contracts with all employees that we have right to put up the contract terms and release terms online. Your terms are still in HR files and will get published soon.

What you are putting up is not any different from other greedy opportunist who quits 6 jobs in 2 years. What does people in Trisha Infotech, Xicom, Magic Software say about you whom you left. You just join a company and leave and its time that you get exposed.

As far as this thread is concerned about adding my company to the List, I already have got the answer.

I am better off not to be on the list the way current site maintainers are driving things. Withdrawing this application for good - as a ref site maintainer @chx crossing his boundaries http://drupal.org/node/317519#comment-1789678.

As a matter of fact, I'll not push for his removal as site-maintainer despite http://drupal.org/node/317519#comment-1785726 - targeting a particular group of people because @chx, I still love your good work with Drupal.
