When I embed object code, e.g. youtube video, either in a block or via CCK Embedded Media field any Quick Tabs that appear on the same page as the object do not display correctly. The data from all tabs appear in the first tab and clicking any tab jumps user to the top of the page rather than activating the Tab. Can you help by identifying where the confict may be occuring.

this sounds similar to this issue: http://drupal.org/node/242865#comment-832863. What browser are you using?

I'm using IE7. And naturally enough I don't have the issue in other browsers. On checking there doesn't appear to be any problem with the code. Also unless I have misunderstood I don't think the jquery media plugin will be a solution. Am I correct in saying this will allow me to load video but it won't resolve the issue for content loaded by my site's members who are using CCK Embedded Media field?

Title: Object code conflict with tabs » Media object code conflict with tabs in IE7
Category: bug » support

I'm pretty sure the bug here is not with Quick Tabs so I'm changing this to a support request. Also changing the title to better reflect the specifics of the issue.
Here's a more general description of the problem: http://www.chapter31.com/2007/09/28/jquery-and-swfobject-conflict/ and again the suggested solution is the jQuery Media plugin.
I don't have much experience myself with embedded media field so I'm not sure how these would work together - but it seems to be just a case of using this plugin to control the rendering of the mark-up for display of the media, it doesn't have anything to do with the uploading of the files.
I'll leave this issue open for the time being in case anybody else out there has a better solution.

Version: 5.x-1.3 » 6.x-3.x-dev

I'd like to reopen this issue, but not sure what to call it. Basically, I've created 3 blocks using Vimeo, YouTube, and Flickr embeddable code.

I'm using the 6.x-3.x-dev version, which I've changed in this issue.

I thought I remember these working previously, but apparently they're not, at least not in IE8 or IE7.

Here's what's going on. Here's what's in my YouTube custom block:

<div style="text-align:center;"><object height="275" width="343"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/p/F87B690EB08CA105?hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;autoplay=0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" src="http://www.youtube.com/p/F87B690EB08CA105?hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;autoplay=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="275" width="343"></object><br /><a href="http://www.youtube.com/ciugrowth" target="_blank">Visit CIU On YouTube</a></div>

In my Quicktab build, this is added as a tab, which works great in Firefox.

All I'm getting is a red X in IE.

I'm not using SWFTools or any other extra loading method. Just the embed code from the providers. Incidentally, I added these blocks to random nodes and they showed up fine in IE outside of the Quicktabs module, so the problem appears to be there. I need this to work as soon as possible as we are launching within a few days and this problem just snuck in there. It's about the only IE problem I have left, at this point (other than people using IE in general, but that can't be solved). You can see what it looks like at http://new.ciu.edu. The quicktab block I'm referring to is the one below the main navigation.

I'm going to look at the code myself and see if there's something there I can figure out.

Oh, nevermind. I was using the 64-bit version of IE. I should just quit developing or I'm having a bad day.

It works as expected.
