My chat is set up as private so that only site members can chat with each other. Suddenly, they are no longer able to see who is placing a chat message (this becomes very confusing and all my members have stopped using chat) and the time stamp is no longer visible.

i'm not really interested in fixing bugs in the 5.x branch, but i'll help anyone who posts patches. patch anyone?
