Maybe this is a good excuse to dump this feature. It doesn't seem to have been very popular: #221426: Disable Weblinks on user profiles? and #130524: Weblink Error in Profile View.

I actually use this feature on my personal site. I am guessing more people use it then we realize since it has been in there since the 4.x versions.
