I updated my installation from IMCE 6.x-1.0 to 6.x-1.1, I'm using TinyMCE. Now after selecting a picture and sending it to the text area, the text area remains empty (the input filter is set to full html). It is the same with IE7 and Firefox 3.0.1. Nothing has changed except the IMCE module.

I also updated the tinymce to the latest version but it did not help.

IE 7 shows in the bottom of the window "error on page", Firefox shows no error at all.

Are you using the links below the textarea to insert images into tinymce?
Those links are for inserting into a plain textarea.
You should use the browse button in image dialog of tinymce. If you can't see it, see the readme.txt for integration instructions.

You're right, I used the link below a text area. You're also right that I can't see the browse button. Together with your hint, readme.txt helped.
