Since Mime Mail seems to have been in limbo with absolutely no progress for the past couple months with getting on board for Drupal 6, I would like to see another option besides Mime Mail for HTML emails with Simplenews. I have all of my Drupal sites upgraded to D6 and all are working beautifully. There is one left that uses Simplenews heavily, but I cannot upgrade it to D6 until Simplenews is able to send out HTML emails whether it is through Mime Mail or another HTML email module. As I said, there seems to be absolutely no motivation for a D6 Mime Mail module.

Drupal is a community effort, we all do the work voluntary (or sponsorsed) for each other and for Drupal at large. What you are requesting here will take a lot of time or funds and should not be underestimated. If you can provide either of these it can be done. Upgrading and maintaining Simplenews already consumes my available budget.

[Edit] Porting Mime Mail to Drupal 6 is still the preferred solution. There is no indication that mime mail will not be ported. I.m.o funding this port is the best way to accelerate the process.
